Annual Exhibition 2025 — A Triumphant Return!
We’re back — and better than ever!
After several years without a public showcase, We were thrilled to return in April 2025 with our much-anticipated Annual Exhibition, hosted at the stunning and historic St Mary De Crypt in Gloucester.
Like many creative communities, we’ve faced a challenging few years. Our last in-person exhibition feels like a distant memory — but this year marked a joyful comeback. The exhibition not only celebrated the passion and skill of our members but also reconnected us with the local community that inspires our photography every day.
Exhibition Highlights
This year’s showcase featured three main categories:
Colour Prints
Mono Prints
Digital Images
We were delighted to receive over 250 entries from our talented members. From these, 96 images were carefully selected for exhibition by our esteemed judge, Richard McCleary of Cheltenham Camera Club. His thoughtful and experienced eye helped curate a compelling and diverse collection that truly represented the best of our club’s creativity.
Mono Prints
There were a number of entries in the Mono Prints section. Subjects varied and the images were presented in black and white. The winning image was a portrait titled Intense by Jay Hallsworth.
The People’s Choice image voted by visitors was Lucy By The Window by Margaret Robson
Colour Prints
The Colour Prints section featured 80 entries, showcasing a vibrant range of subjects, styles and techniques. From vivid landscapes to striking portraits, this category reflected the full spectrum of our members' creativity. The winning image, Graceful Redhead by Jay Hallsworth, stood out for its composition, colour harmony and emotive impact, earning high praise from our judge.
Digital Images
The Digital Images section featured a wide variety of work, from wildlife and action to creative compositions and travel photography. First place was awarded to Steve Ayres for his dynamic sports image, Goalmouth Action, which captured both timing and energy with precision. Second place went to Dave Houston for his characterful wildlife shot, Bad Hair Day, featuring a memorable ostrich portrait. Third place was awarded to Margaret Harvey for A Moment In The Shade, a contemplative and well-composed image that impressed with its subtle storytelling.
