Gloucester Camera Club - Annual Exhibition 2021
Welcome to our Annual Exhibition…
With last years exhibition canceled due to COVID like most events in 2020, we especially wanted to have an exhibition this year. However we felt that since the pandemic still has a good grip on the nation and not everyone yet happy and comfortable to mix socially, then we would make this year's exhibition an online event.
We are delighted that we have received a record number of entries for the 2021 Annual Exhibition with over 200 images and we hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we enjoyed taking these photos.
We hope that you enjoy viewing our images, and please do vote for your favorite three photographs in the Peoples Choice vote.
Peoples Choice Vote
Each year, we invite members of the public that visit the exhibition to choose their images that they enjoy most from those on display. We would ask you to browse the photos and take part in this years Peoples Vote by voting for your 3 favourite photos.

Voting will be open from 15th October to 30th October. The Winners of the People Choice will be announced along with the results for each of the 7 sections at the Gloucester Camera Club meeting on Tuesday 2nd November. If you would like to attend please let us know because we have limited numbers due to Covid but you can also attend on Zoom and we can send you a link.
The Sections
Usually we are able to display both digital images and prints, however that is of course not feasible with an online exhibition so instead of printed images and digital images, this year we have chosen to have a monochrome section and a colour section.
An image is considered to be Monochrome only if it gives the impression of having no color (i.e. contains only shades of gray which can include pure black and pure white) OR it gives the impression of being a greyscale image that has been toned in one color across the entire image.
We also have three classes within the club, beginners, intermediate and advanced. When members join the club, we usually advise they start in the beginners class unless we feel that their work is of sufficient standard to enter directly in to the intermediate class. Members then move up through the classes as they gain experience. Winners of the club annual competition are automatically promoted to the next class, and any member with a photographic distinction such as LRPS, AFIAP or CPAGB is automatically eligible to participate in the advanced class.
There is also a section for the Portrait Shield which is a themed section open to all club members regardless of ability and it is very interesting to see just how successful members of the beginners and intermediate classes are against the advanced workers.
These 7 sections are judged by a distinguished panel of judges and images are awarded First, Second and Third places. The judges at their discretion are also able to bestow "Commended" and "Highly Commended" awards for images they feel merit it.
We will be announcing the results and presenting trophies to winners at our scheduled club meeting on the 2nd November.
